How to choose your Jordan itinerary?
The ideal duration depends on your pace and the regions you wish to combine. An 8-day trip allows you to visit Amman, Jerash, the Dead Sea, Petra and Wadi Rum without rushing. To include Dana, the desert castles and two to three days of diving or relaxation in Aqaba, plan for 1 to 7 days instead. Itineraries of 8 to 12 days open the way to combined trips with Egypt, crossing the border at Taba, or in-depth hiking stays on the Jordan Trail. Our team builds each program based on seasons and the altitude of each stage.
Different types of itineraries
Jordan lends itself to several approaches depending on your preferences. Travelers drawn to history and archaeology favor our cultural circuits, which spend two full days in Petra, Jerash and the Umayyad castles. Adventure enthusiasts choose our adventure circuits, with hiking in the Dana Biosphere Reserve, climbing Jebel Umm ad Dami at 1750 m and Bedouin camping in Wadi Rum. For traveling with children, our family circuits balance visits, include a camel ride, swimming in the Dead Sea and snorkeling in Aqaba.
What is the best season?
Jordan can be visited almost year-round but two windows stand out. March to May offers temperatures of 20 to 28°C, hillsides greened by winter rains and poppies in the wadis. September to November remains dry, mild and bright, peak season for Petra and Wadi Rum. Summer (June-August) brings 40°C in the south, manageable for swimmers in Aqaba but challenging for hiking. Winter brings cold and sometimes snow in Amman and Petra, with nights around 0°C in the desert, offset by well-heated camps.
