Jordan's treasure guide, based in Amman

Jordan is a country of hospitality and contrasts. You can move from desert canyons to ancient ruins or share tea with Bedouins all in the same day.

Hossam

Originally from Jordan, Hossam began his career as a local guide before founding Enjoy Jordan in 2008 with the desire to showcase his country in a different way. With many years spent in the field alongside travelers, he developed a very practical knowledge of Jordanian regions, from major historical sites to more off-the-beaten-path itineraries. Based in Amman, Hossam and his team design tailor-made trips designed to reveal the diversity of the country: ancient cities, the mineral landscapes of Wadi Rum, the gentle shores of the Dead Sea, and the villages and traditions that give Jordan its full depth. His approach prioritizes exchange, the right pace, and experiences that foster a deeper understanding of local culture. Deeply committed to quality on-the-ground service, Hossam enjoys building balanced itineraries that blend cultural discovery, immersion, and more contemplative moments in Jordan's vast landscapes.

Everything you need to know about Jordan

Our local experts share their knowledge to prepare your trip.

When to visit Jordan?

Spring remains the most beautiful window for a trip to Jordan. From mid-March to mid-May, the hills around Madaba are covered with wild grasses, temperatures stay mild in Petra, and nights in Wadi Rum are still cool but bearable. Autumn, from September to November, offers magnificent light over the canyons and a perfectly swimmable Dead Sea. Summer is harsh in the southern desert, where temperatures regularly exceed 40°C: visitors tend to prefer Amman, Jerash, or the heights of Ajloun instead. Winter, quieter, can surprise with its severity—it sometimes snows on Petra—but remains ideal for those seeking near-empty sites.

What budget should I plan for a trip to Jordan?

Jordan is not a budget destination, and it's best to know that before you go. Plan for an average of between €1,800 and €2,500 per person for a ten to twelve-day trip, including international flights, with quality accommodation. The Jordan Pass, entry to Petra (50 JOD alone), nights in Bedouin tents at Wadi Rum, and vehicle rental with driver significantly impact the overall cost. Conversely, local food — mezzes, mansaf, neighbourhood falafels — remains very affordable. Depending on your desired comfort level, pace, and the extent of private experiences, we tailor each quote to truly reflect your project, with no surprises once you arrive.

Why organize your trip with a local agency in Jordan?

Working with an English-speaking local agency based in Amman fundamentally changes how you experience the country. Hossam, Sonia and the Enjoy Jordan team have lived here their entire lives: they know what time to avoid the crowds at the Treasury of Petra, which Bedouin camp still truly delivers on its promises in Wadi Rum, which Dana family opens their table with genuine hospitality. This deep ground knowledge simply cannot be found in a catalogue. Our drivers and guides have been working with us for years, and every itinerary is built through dialogue, not from a pre-set template. You book directly with us while benefiting from French legal protection through the Nomadays collective.

What to see on a trip to Jordan?

A beautiful Jordan itinerary often begins in Amman, between the Umayyad Citadel and the cafés of Rainbow Street, before heading to Jerash and its remarkably well-preserved Roman colonnades. You then descend via the King's Highway — Madaba and its mosaics, Mount Nebo, the fortresses of Kerak and Shobak — to reach Petra, where you should take time to explore over at least two days, via the highland trail up to the Monastery. Wadi Rum is discovered by 4x4 then under canvas, listening to the silence. Depending on your preferences, you can extend your journey with a floating swim on the Dead Sea, a diving experience in Aqaba, or a hike in the Dana reserve, one of the country's most stunning landscapes.
