The stages of your journey
Highlights
Day-by-day itinerary

Welcome to Jordan!
Upon arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, you complete customs and visa formalities before meeting your driver, who awaits you with a nameplate. You then head towards Madaba, where you check into your hotel. You enjoy dinner on-site before spending your first night in Jordanie.

Madaba, Mount Nebo and the King's Highway
After breakfast, you set off to visit the city. Madaba is home to many churches adorned with beautiful mosaics. The most famous of these is found in the Church of Saint George: it is the oldest known representation of the Holy Land, notably of Jerusalem and the Decapolis, aptly named the Map of the Holy Land. A short distance away stands the Mount Nebo, where it is believed that Moses died and where his tomb is located. It is the most important holy site in Jordanie, and from the 4th century an church was built there.
You continue south on the King's Road, along the Dead Sea. The views over the Jordan Valley are magnificent. You follow here the presumed traces of Moses leading the Hebrews during their Exodus. In the Mujib valley, a visit is a must to the Al-Karak Castle, which dominates the town and which is said to be impregnable.
Last stretch heading south towards the Dana Nature Reserve. Arrival in the village of Dana and check-in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Dana Reserve and heading to Petra
The Dana Nature Reserve is a true paradise for nature lovers and open space enthusiasts. Its arid appearance conceals great biodiversity. From the rift valley to the desert expanses of Wadi Araba, steep mountains and valleys succeed one another, harboring exceptional fauna and flora. Ancient rock paintings testify to the very early settlement of the region. The morning is devoted to a long guided hike exploring the reserve. A wonderful moment of rejuvenation in the midst of these immense majestic spaces.
It is time to head south again. You stop a short distance north of Petra to visit the Shobak fortress, built in the early 12th century, during the time of the Crusades, by the King of Jerusalem Baldwin I. Also called Krak de Mont Real, its position overlooking the Arabah valley made it a strategic location for controlling trade routes between Egypt, Arabia and the Red Sea.
Arrival at your destination of the day, the mythical Petra. Check-in for dinner and the night at the Beidah camp.
Visit to Petite Petra and the Siq el-Barid site, a Nabatean caravanserai and commercial hub, as well as the Neolithic remains of Beidah.

Legendary city of Petra
The full day is dedicated to exploring the Pink City, an icon of the country, UNESCO world heritage site, an exceptional and monumental place shrouded in mystery, which will amaze you. You have an early breakfast and begin the visit from the town of Wadi Mussa.
Sometimes called the Lost City, built nearly 2000 years ago by the Nabataeans, "lost" to the West in the 14th century and then rediscovered in the early 19th century by a Swiss traveler disguised as an Arab claiming to want to honor the tomb of the prophet Aaron, Petra is filled with tombs, palaces, staircases, rock-cut temples…
The spectacle is everywhere and captivates lovers of fine stone, history, artists, explorers and simple travelers alike. Magic happens and emotions run high!
Return to Wadi Mussa and check in to the hotel for dinner and the night.

Petra
This second day in Pétra allows you to continue exploring the site through new itineraries. You discover the sacrifice sites, before descending the mountain towards Wadi Farassa. Your journey continues with the discovery of the many tombs of Pétra, before leaving the site via the Siq al Muzlim.
Night in Pétra.

Arrival at Wadi Rum
You then head due south towards Wadi Rum, also called the Valley of the Moon. This enchanting and majestic desert made up of dunes and rock formations in ochre tones had already captivated Lawrence of Arabia in his time.
Welcome by a team of Bedouins (desert specialist guide and cook) who will take care of setting up camp in the evening according to the planned itinerary. This marks the beginning of 3 days in the magic of the desert and nights camping or under the stars.
Without further delay, you set off on your first steps in the desert. 2 hours of hiking in the morning concluding with a picnic at Burda, then 3 hours in the afternoon, until the bivouac site at Um Frouth.

In the Heart of the Desert
You're heading off for two full days of hiking in the desert, at a rate of 4 to 5 hours of trekking per day. As you progress, you discover landscapes shaped by sand, rock needles and ridges, between pink dunes and stratified sandstone massifs of Um Frouth, Um Ngour and Siq Nugra. At the end of the first day, you set up camp at Um Sabatah, where you enjoy the sunset over the desert.
The next day, the hike continues through these desert landscapes before reaching the surroundings of the village of Diseh to set up your second camp. Another evening in the desert awaits you, marked by the final light of the sun on the surrounding reliefs.

On the Edge of the Dead Sea
You enjoy a final breakfast in the heart of the desert, in the mineral setting of Wadi Rum. You then head to the village of Wadi Rum by 4x4, marking the end of your immersion in the Jordanian desert.
You head north towards the Dead Sea, located at the borders of Jordanie, Israël and Cisjordanie. You thus discover the lowest point on Earth, at approximately 417 meters below sea level.
This stage is dedicated to relaxation at the end of your stay. With a salinity of 27.5%, the waters of the Dead Sea offer a unique experience: you can let yourself float naturally on the surface. This salt concentration also explains the absence of fish and algae in its waters.
